Architectural Marvel
Built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century, Kumbhalgarh is the highest fort in Mewar. Its perimeter wall extends 36 kilometers, making it the second-longest wall in the world after the Great Wall of China. It remained unconquered due to its hostile topography.
Chronicles of Valor
An Unconquered Bastion
Kumbhalgarh was captured only once in its history due to a shortage of drinking water when the combined forces of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Raja Man Singh of Amber, and Raja Udai Singh of Marwar besieged it.
Birthplace of a Legend
This fort is the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the legendary king of Mewar who fought against the Mughals.
Design & Defense
The Great Wall
The wall is 15 feet thick, wide enough for eight horses to ride abreast. It winds through the Aravalli hills, guarding the fortress.
Cloud Palace
At the very top sits the Badal Mahal (Cloud Palace), offering panoramic views of the Aravalli Range and the Thar Desert dunes.
