The Legend

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the founder of the Maratha Empire and one of the most celebrated warrior kings in Indian history. Born in 1630, he built a powerful kingdom through strategic warfare, guerrilla tactics, and a strong naval force. Shivaji challenged the authority of the Mughal Empire under Aurangzeb and established an independent Hindu kingdom in western India. He is also associated with ancestral links to the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar, which enhanced his royal legitimacy.

Shivaji was raised by his mother Jijabai and mentor Dadoji Konddev, who instilled strong values of independence and dharma.
