The Chauhans are an Agnivanshi clan (born from fire) who ruled Delhi and Ajmer. They are immortalized by the legend of Prithviraj Chauhan III.

The Reign of Prithviraj
Prithviraj Chauhan III ascended the throne at a young age. His romantic abduction of Sanyogita and his epic battles against Muhammad Ghori are the stuff of folklore.
The Fall and Dispersion
After the Second Battle of Tarain (1192), the main branch collapsed, but offshoots like the Hadas of Bundi and Songaras of Jalore continued the lineage.
